iDiscrete can securely store your images and videos (max. resolution of 480 x 320). Supported image extensions are JPG, PNG, BMP and GIF. Supported video extensions are MP4, M4V and MOV. Additionally, TXT, DOC, RTF, XLS, PPT and PDF file formats are also supported. There are two different methods to import your content to iDiscrete:
1) Importing from Camera Roll Content already on the iPhone can easily be imported into iDiscrete. The content (images or video) may come from the Camera Roll, or any other user-created folders within the Photos app. If you would like to import content into the default Pictures or Videos folders in iDiscrete, simply begin at the Home Screen and touch “Manage” in the top left corner, then “Add content,” then “From Camera Roll.” If, however, you would like to import content into a user-created folder simply navigate to that folder and touch the icon in the top right corner, then “Add content,” then “From Camera Roll.”
A user-created folder may contain both images and videos (images will always be displayed first). In contrast, only images may go into the default Pictures folder, and only videos may go into the default Videos folder. If the “Multiple Selection” option found in Settings is off, then each touch of an image thumbnail will transfer the image into iDiscrete. If the “Multiple Selection” option is on, you may select more than one image at once, and pressing “Done” will initiate the transfer (pressing the “Trash Can” icon will clear the current cache of selected pictures). Importing video into iDiscrete works in a similar way, although only one video may be transferred at a time. Simply click on the thumbnail of the desired video, and a preview screen will open where you can view the video. Pressing “Choose” in the bottom right corner will initiate the transfer.
Note: If you want to move content into iDiscrete, rather than copy it, you will simply need to manually delete the original content from your Camera Roll.
2) Upload using iDiscrete File Manager (WiFi connection required) Content not already on the iPhone may be imported into iDiscrete by using the iDiscrete File Manager. To be successful, the iPhone must be connected to a WiFi network, which must also have connected to it a computer (PC or Mac) with a web browser. Access the File Manager by pressing “Upload” in the “Add Content” menu . You must leave the iPhone powered on with the File Manager screen open during the entire transfer process. Then, from the computer which contains your content, open a web browser and navigate to the URL listed on the iPhone. You will see a list of files already in the current folder (or, if you started your upload from the Home Screen, you will see the files in the default Pictures and Videos folders). Now press “Browse” to find your content, and “Upload” to send it to your iPhone. It’s that easy! Complete the process by backing out of the File Manager screen on the iPhone by pressing the icon in the top left corner.
iDiscrete also supports TXT, DOC, RTF, XLS, PPT and PDF file formats. All are read-only, except TXT, which can be edited directly on the iPhone. TXT and DOC files are placed in the Text folder, and the rest create a specific folder for that file type when uploaded.
File transfers using the iDiscrete File Manager can be in the computer-to-iPhone direction, as well as in the iPhone-to-computer direction. If you wish to save content from the iPhone onto the computer, simply right-click the file in the File Manager and choose the “Save Link As…” option. Using iDiscrete in this way allows your iPhone to serve as a mass storage device, with the added benefit of Touch Sequence Protection™ for your files. Uploading any files via the File Manager that iDiscrete does not recognize will result in the creation of a “Misc.” folder on the main screen, where these files will be stored. These files can be pulled off the iPhone and onto any computer with a web browser and a WiFi connection.
